The white wines that cam eout from the 2012 vintage are great but I don't think they hit the highs from the 2011 vintage. You have to love a white wine with a massive backbone as most of them did in 2011.
Didi Giallo 2012
This year’s version is much darker in colour than lasts years which may suggest that it was longer on skins or worked a bit harder in the winery. The wine feels pure and alive with flavours of struck flint, guava, pineapple leaves, lime custard and bath salt with a dryness that lurks underneath which comes from the tannins and acidity. The palate is very long with an apple cider component finishing the experience off. As I let the wine breath over four days, the apple cider notes becomes more prominent and a slight bitterness becomes more apparent. While the bitterness balanced out the sweet fruit flavours, the apples began to dominate so I would recommend a drink sooner rather than later approach.
