Chapel Hill iL Vescovo White 2010

When I think of quality McLaren Vale white wines not much comes to mind except a few Fiano's so it is great to see a winery embrace a regional blend of all the white varieties that they think best grow in the area. This is a blend of Savagnin, Verdelho and Roussanne.

Chapel Hill iL Vescovo White 2010

Upon opening the wine feels ultra light but soon the mid-palate becomes rich and satisfying but then it finishes light again.  This works so well as the richness provides interest but the light ending allows my palate to remain fresh and energised.  What takes this up a level is an oiliness to the texture that seduces my senses with the flavours of lime, peach and spice easily flowing from start to finish.  While there are elements of old school lollies in this wine it remains dry with lip smacking acidity running through it. Another goal for the team at Chapel Hill.
