Gapsted Prosecco NV

Don't you love when a region embraces a particular style and really makes it their own.  This has what has happened in the King Valley.  Every winery makes food friendly elegant wines at a reasonable price point.

Gapsted Prosecco NV

The first thing I notice about this wine is the amount of bubbles that flow from my glass.  It made smelling the wine a little difficult as my senses were bombarded with effervesces and no flavour.  On the palate you get a hit of fruits and spice but none of the lovely bitter almond flavour or refreshing acidity.  Its a nice wine but it is made to please the masses rather than be a light and zesty Prosecco.
