Alpha Box & Dice Enigma 2010

Justin Lane seems to have this innate ability to blend highly regional wines that possess something a little extra.  Take this wine for instance, the barbera is juicy (it is a high acid low tannin variety) while the 7% Cabernet gives it a tannin structure but doesn't dominate the flavour spectrum. The marriage between these two varieties is brilliant but more than that both varieties taste of the Vales!  More people need to think about blending to express what their region does the best.

Alpha Box & Dice Enigma 2010

This has everything you would think of wanting in a wine which includes dark cherries rolled in dirt and smoking a pipe in a vat of spice. There is a sourness to this wine which is rare for the Vales but it makes it so easy to come back for another sip.  What about the the juiciness you ask? Well, it is juicy yet it is dark and ominous. I just want to bath in this intoxicating liquid but I feel my wife wouldn't approve.
