Scorpo Pinot Gris 2010

Pinot Noir is one of the varieties that I either love or hate and nothing in between. Pinot Gris is thought to be a transformed version of the Pinot Noir variety.  The wines produced from this grape vary in colour from light pink to golden yellow but in Australia a lot of wineries strip the colour as they think the public will not appreciate them.  When they remove the colour they also loose flavour and aromatics which may explain why the quality of this variety in Australia is lacking.

Scorpo Pinot Gris 2010

Lighter and finer than the Kooyong version and much better for it.The wine almost tastes like a dessert with baked pears, apple and a spicy lemon twist.  Even though there isn't the textural experience that you get from the Alcasian versions I'm left feeling refreshed and invigorated.
